I can't tell you how excited I am to write this sentence: Elijah and I are returning to the wedding world!
We didn't disappear completely, of course, but we've moved around so much in the past few years that focusing on photography as a business wasn't really possible. In the past three years, we've moved four times, with one of the journeys taking us away from South Dakota and to Cincinnati, our current home. We would have started up A (plus) E Photography straight away, but I was six months pregnant during that move, and by the time we settled, as big as a house and tired all of the time. Oh, and I had two books to write. (A link to the latest, "The Kennedy Wives: Triumph and Tragedy in America's Most Public Family," is below.)
Now, our (undeniably super cute - photos attached) son is 1 and both of my books have been released, so here we are, ready and eager to shoot. We're launching some ads to let Cincinnati know we exist here, and we might hit up some past clients for referrals so people know we're legit. Our goal is to take six or so weddings a year - enough to keep us busy without being too overwhelming with a little one at home.
As always, we're available for travel, so don't let our locale keep you from reaching out. We've made such great friends shooting weddings that we're very excited to get going again! We can't wait to hear from new people.
Note: Special thanks to Leigh Patton Taylor, a fantastic photographer who recently left The Enquirer, for the three family photos at the start. The remaining portraits were shot by Elijah or me.

Chris and Katelyn: So Engaging

Instead of Black Friday shopping, we spent the day after Thanksgiving shooting the engagement photos for Chris and Katelyn. We're 100% sure we had more fun this way.
The shoot began at the historic Dawn Theatre in Chris's hometown of Hillsdale, Michigan and wrapped up with some tremendous shots at the nearby train tracks. With such stunning models and beautiful locations, we're thrilled with how the shoot turned out!

Been a while ...

It's now November 2012, and Amber and I are finally feeling settled in South Dakota. The year here has been fascinating, taking us to parts of the country we'd never really knew existed. Attached are just two recent images from a trip to northern South Dakota.
Now that we're settled, we're going to officially re-launch the wedding photography business. We're really excited about it. We've missed the fun of being part of people's big day. So if you're in South Dakota or know someone who is, spread the word! Advertising to begin shortly.

As we've been settling in across the country in South Dakota, Elijah has kept up with our portrait series on the ever-growing, always-adorable Calan. Here's his fourth installment at the 9-month-mark.

Elijah again visited Michigan to spend time with adorable Calan. The smiles are coming faster. The personality is clearly developing. This kid is such a sweetie.
